Today I went to nearby Wildcat Canyon to fly Grover1 for some sunset footage. It never ceases to amaze me how winter in Northern California is when this area is super green and lush. Today’s main goal was to collect some ‘tripod-in-the-sky” raw footage that I can turn into time-lapse. I look forward to sharing that with you soon!

I’m still a total newbie with this drone/flying camera. I still can’t get over how well it flies, giving me the freedom to explore the camera system and start to evolve my technique. The camera is something I’m beginning to tackle and you are witnessing that evolution right here (thank you for bearing/growing with me).

The four photo stills I took today are here: https://jackspace.smugmug.com/Drones/20180111grover1drone

By the way, if you happen to want to get one of these bad boys, or anything else from DJI, the company that seems to never stop dreaming up new and better ways to have fun with drones and photography, sometimes even at the same time, use this link and get 30% off during their Winter Sale: http://click.dji.com/AI28Dr68Qi5gW4yG…

Finally, if you’re wondering about the name “Grover1” for my drone. Grover was an elder blind/deaf dog we took in in 2010. He had been abandoned and was in awful shape when we found him. Never have I have seen any living being with so much lust for life and a model for living a life despite the circumstances and against all odds as I did with that little Shih-tzu spirit warrior. Everything about Grover was OVER THE TOP. There was nothing half-way about that little guy. So in honor of Grover, who might not have been able to see much, but he wanted to roam the planet I name this drone Grover1 (adding the one since there will be more).

Here’s video of Grover: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWtLItGgmNQ
