The V&A Dundee is now open this weekend and here is a quick look at what Rising View Aerial Drone Video & Photography has created using drones to make a 3D model of the iconic building designed by Kengo Kuma and Associates
The model has a total of 145,410,712 points with a GSD of 1.13 cm / 0.44 in. It was created using 2895 geo-tagged images and was very challenging due to the complex shape of the building.
If you are interested we have exports of the point cloud available in .xyz / .las / .kmz and autodesk .rcp files but can get other outputs on request.
Thanks to Andy Gloyne from Airograph for creating the model to such high standards and also to Andy Carman from ARC Aerial Imaging for teaching us how to capture the data required on their Drone Aerial Imaging course.
