Kia Niro EV REVEALED – Electric car solves one huge problem with EVs

KIA revealed the all-new Niro EV battery-electric car at CES 2018. Here’s everything you need to know about it.
Kia Niro EV was revealed at CES 2018.

The all-new battery electric car was on display at the Las Vegas technology show, revealing the company’s advancements in the technology.

It follows in the footsteps of the Stinger car with its fresh good looks and styling.

Niro EV is also paired to an efficient battery-electric powertrain.

The compact SUV has been designed to be aerodynamically efficient and improve the car’s range.
Being an electric car it has no need for a grille, so it has been replaced by a smooth interactive display panel, combined with ultra-slim lamp technology in the overall front.

It resembles the current Niro SUV in its design but with some futuristic adjustments.

Kia is lining this car up to be one used in urban and suburban roads, making it suitable for both towns and cities.

The car is also paired with a number of driver assistance safety systems which will improve safety inside the car but also for pedestrians.

These include the concept’s new Active Pedestrian Warning System which features a combination of front view cameras, object recognition technology and front speakers.
It will notify a pedestrian that gets too near using the speakers warning them of its presence.

This addresses an issue with electric cars which have a silent powertrain which can make them harder to hear.

APWS is matched by the Niro EV Concept’s new interactive lighting system, which offers users and pedestrians a highly-intuitive visual communication with vehicle.

Niro EV is powered by a 64 kWh lithium-polymer battery pack, paired with a powerful 150 kW electric motor allowing 238 miles of range on a single charge.

It also has fast charging allowing 115 miles of charge in just 30 minutes.
