We started the day off by getting ready to just go out and have fun. We thought we might go on a mini road trip to Park City or somewhere peaceful. We started with breakfast at our favorite breakfast place, Granny Annie’s. The kids were playing and wanted to try all of the different flavored coffee creamers. After breakfast we decided not to go to Park City because most of the fun attractions up there were still closed for the winter, so we went to Logan to the Gossners Cheese Factory. We got some squeaky cheese curds and tried all the samples. After trying the cheese we headed up the canyon to Bear Lake. On the way we found a little cave that we stopped at and went exploring. The cave went back about 30 feet deep. Jackson liked the spiders and bat poop. It was pretty cool. The girls just waited for us to come and tell them about it. We finally arrived at Bear Lake. The water reminded Jia of the ocean water in Okinawa Japan. Blake was having fun flying the drone around. Then he decided to do a range test. Maybe not the best idea. He took it 12,500 feet out across the water. Then started heading back. He was getting a lot of head wind and so he took it closer to the water to reduce the wind resistance. Then he put it in Sport Mode to allow it to fly faster. The battery was dying and it was still far out there. It finally got down to about 4% battery and tried to self land. He overrode it by pushing the altitude stick up but it almost went in the water. After it raised a little he was able to get it back to shore with only 3% battery life. He purposely crashed it into the weeds on the shore thinking it would be the fasted and best way to land it with such a low battery life. He had to walk a little ways down the beach to get it and we were lucky enough that nothing was broken. He did a quick test flight afterwards to see if it still all worked and it did. After that epic and dramatic experience we were all hungry so we went back to Logan and ate at a Mongolian restaurant called Huhot Mongolian Grill. It was really good food. After dinner we drove home and put the kids to bed. If you enjoyed the video just like and subscribe to see more. See you on the next one.
