Drone footage released by the Russian Investigative Committee on Monday, shows the crash site of Saratov Airlines in the village of Stepanovskoye in the Moscow Region.
According to the Investigative Committee, a group of 100 people are involved in the investigation, which is taking place over a number of Russian regions simultaneously. The Committee confirmed the aircraft was intact before the crash and that the explosion occurred upon impact with the ground.
Both the flight data recorder and the cockpit voice recorder of the AN-148 have been recovered.
The airliner was heading to the city of Orsk when the crash occurred some 80 kilometres (50 miles) south-east of the capital. It went off the radar screens shortly after it had taken off from Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport, killing all 71 on board.
